Much larger than expected

I like this jacket, it fits well. My husband and I both went to a couple of sporting goods stores to try on some different rain jackets of various styles, sizes, and colors from different manufacturers before deciding on the Columbia rain jackets we purchased. We felt like they were the best deal for the price that we paid. I purchased the Columbia Women's Switchback II Jacket, while my husband purchased the Columbia Men's Watertight Jacket. My husband wore his outside in the rain the day after he received it and the raindrops just fell right off of it. The slight bill on the hat kept the water off of his glasses. We both bought these rain jackets for when we go camping and trout fishing, so the ability to pack them into a small package for carrying with us is very important. I would give it five stars but I have not had it long enough to completely test it out. I guess I will have to revisit this review for an update once I have put it through its paces.

Ok, I'm back with an update. I tested it out in the rain and decided that I did not like the way that the hood drawstring worked. The hood drawstring runs around the outside front of the bill, so that when pulled tight the bill pulled down over my eyes. That kind of defeats the purpose of having the bill to me. My husbands jacket does not do this. On his the hood drawstring runs behind the bill and around the face. That is the way that I want it to work, and I found it in the Columbia Women's Tested Tough In Pink Rain Jacket. The material and hood drawstring are just like the Columbia Men's Watertight Jacket that my husband has, but it's made for a woman.
